RIVER STOUR CONTAINMENT CURTAIN DEPLOYMENT/RECOVERY

PROJECT BRIEF	To compile a strategy and series of safe working practices for the mobilisation and demobilisation of the contractors bio-engineered containment curtain in order to conduct scour protection works within the River Stour.
RESPONSIBILITIES	I was overall responsible for ensuring that the sequence of carrying out all works were both methodical and logical in an effort to create a successful outcome without injury to personnel or damage to the equipment or supporting structures.
CLIENT	MMC Diving Services | Aquatic Engineering | Dyer and Butler Ltd
CHALLENGES	This was a relatively easy task with the curtain being both lightweight and permeable.  That said, there is always procedures for manual handling to be considered and the inherent risk of entanglement/entrapment.
