SY DEXTERITY YACHT MANAGEMENT

PROJECT BRIEF	To take delivery of the yacht from the Isle of Wight and project manage the entire winter works program.
RESPONSIBILITIES	I was responsible for compiling a works list and project managing the entire winter works program for this vessel as well as co-ordinating all operations through various sub-contractors. I carried out the majority of works myself and was responsible for the overall appointment of specialist suppliers to ensure that both the owner and vessel received value for their money without compromise.

CHALLENGES	Dexterity is an ex charter and sea school vessel of over 20 years so this year she was given new rod rigging and all new running rigging along with a new furling system so that the owner can finally enjoy her for himself when he is not racing her. As with any boat that has been at the perils of the sea often under the control of an inexperienced crew, Dexterity was finally due some very much TLC. Works on her included mechanical, electrical, rigging, polishing & waxing, antifouling, detailing, safety equipment servicing and general maintenance all of which I conducted over a period of 4 weeks, 3 of which were out on the hard during a period of snow storms, rain and sub zero temperatures.
REPORTING	I compiled a comprehensive report covering all works undertaken including a gallery of images before and after which was forwarded to the owner on completion. The report also detailed information concerning future additional works for consideration so that the owner could allocate a suitable budget in advance of the next annual maintenance program.
OUTCOME	Project completed – The vessel looked brand new!
