MOTOR YACHT TEAK RENOVATION

PROJECT BRIEF	To rejuvinate tired teak deck on motor yacht
RESPONSIBILITIES	Director of Operations \| Project Manager \| Restorer. I was responsible for all works from inception to completion. Despite these decks being over 10 years old I was able to bring them back to life with significant results before finishing them with a high grade sealer to help protect them throughout the year.

CHALLENGES	With a previous application of tinted sealer being used, the teak had to be cleaned thoroughly with a specialist 2 part cleaner. Whenever working with strong chemicals it is imperative to know and understand the hazards of the products being used in order to protect the operator, the general public and of course the vessel throughout the lifecycle of the project. Attention to detail is critical as is the correct PPE attire and the overall preparation process. Weather again, pays a significant role in both the execution and final finishing of these works and therefore planning must be conducive to the prevailing conditions.
